Household onions come in various sizes (35/50 mm, 40/60 mm, 50/70 mm). Under the light, golden brown to copper, dry skin, there is a white, juicy pulp.
QUALITYNOTE
Onions are usually laid out to dry on a bed of hay for a couple of days. They are then air-dried at 25° C in drying plants to attain their ideal hardness. Onions can be stored at temperatures of 0-1° C and a relative humidity of 70-80 % in darkened rooms.
