Der faire Handel ermöglicht kleinen, unabhängigen Bauern, mit ihren Produkten am Welthandel teilzunehmen.
Fairtrade is the controlled trade with products whose prices are fix. This enables the producers to attain a larger and more reliable income than possible in conventional trade. On the production level, international working, environmental and social standards must be met.
WIN-WIN FOR CONSUMERS AND PRODUCERS
All companies involved in fair trade are monitored on a regular basis. The international Fairtrade Labelling Organization (FLO) safeguards the compliance with its specifications in the countries of origin. In Germany, TransFair e.V., a registered association, awards the Fairtrade seal. In Switzerland, it is awarded by the Max-Havelaar Foundation.
Both consumers and producers profit from Fairtrade. It gives consumers access to strictly monitored products that are environmentally safe. The producers get a fair price as well as an additional Fairtrade bonus, which is reinvested in local ecological and social projects.
FAIRTRADE AT PORT INTERNATIONAL
Port International has been Fairtrade certified company since 1997 and imports the Fairnando and Max Havelaar fruit brands to Europe.
